ABSTRACT

For some years, a multidimensional multiphase code (MC3D) is developed in France in order to describe the different phases of a corium-water interaction. In this paper we describe the MC3D application for the PREMIXING Phase. Ih its most usual version, the code describes the fragmentation and dispersion of hot liquid droplets during their fall into the water. In order to validate the constitutive laws for dispersion and heat transfer, an analytical experimental program is presently conducted in Grenoble. In this program, we study the behaviour of solid spheres dropped into water. In this paper, results of the experiments are presented along with code calculation.
