ABSTRACT

We present a numerical study of compact cross flow heat exchangers made of machined plates. Two of the problems usually encountered at small scales: longitudinal conductivity and relaxation time are addressed. We show that for low flow rates a poor heat conductor might have better performances than a good conductor and that two relaxation times might be observed depending on the temperature evolution.
