Doshi ABSTRACT The transient analysis of U-tube steam generator commonly used in nuclear power plants is carried out using an Extended Implicit Continuous Eulerian (EICE) solution method. A one dimensional finite difference formulation is developed to solve mass, momentum and energy conservation equations in the primary and the secondary legs of the steam generator. An empirical two-phase slip flow model is also included in the formulation. The numerical results obtained are compared with the experimental data reported in the literature and reasonably good agreement is observed. 333-340 pages |
