ABSTRACT This paper summarises the implementation of parallel radiation algorithms in the CFX-4 software. These algorithms use ray tracing concepts, based on the Monte-Carlo and Discrete Transfer methods, rather than the Domain Decomposition used by the CFD calculations. The results show that is possible to get good parallel performance on a challenging practical problem, with the approach outlined here, combining these two different approaches. download article
