ABSTRACT

This paper reports on Large Eddy Simulations (LES) of self-similar Rayleigh-Taylor turbulence in the incompressible limit. We first discuss the governing filtered Navier-Stokes equations and the associated subgrid-scale modeling. We then provide results showing evidence of self-similarity for three different initial density ratios. The quantitative results are found to agree closely with available experimental and theoretical
