ABSTRACT

Similarity laws for temperature profiles and heat flux at the wall are established for turbulent thermal boundary layer on a permeable plate. According to a universal temperature defect law at arbitrary injection and rather high Reynolds numbers everywhere outside the viscous sublayer, the temperature profiles can be described by a single curve, which is known from experimental data for an impermeable plate. A universal heat transfer law, in the form of generalized Reynolds analogy, makes it possible to represent the heat flux distributions corresponding to different Reynolds numbers, in terms of a function of one variable. The results are obtained without invoking any special closure hypotheses.
